With 74.4 percent of Domo, Dominuse Management is owned by the families of the shareholders, the Szarvadis with 55 percent and the Hegeduses with 45 percent. Lorand Szarvadi, founder of Domo, said that through this operation the basis of a holding structure had been set. This way it will be easier for an investor in case of a possible transaction, and for the listing of the company, too.
The business had already held discussions with specialists for the listing of the company which will probably take place this fall. At the same time the retailer is looking for a strategic partner, Szarvadi said.
Domo is present on the Bulgarian market as well and is considering the possibility of entering other markets from the region. In 2006 the company had EUR 122 million for Romania and EUR 3 million for Bulgarian operations. By year-end the retailer will open 13 new locations in Romania and five in Bulgaria.
Other shareholders of the company include the Romanian-American Enterprise Fund with 9.3 percent, Westerham Holding with 14.8 percent and Alexandru Mnohoghitnei with 1.5 percent.
The only local retailer that has been listed on the BSE is Flamingo, in 2005.
