2Performant (BVB: 2P), a technology company and the leader of the affiliate marketing market in Romania, posts a turnover RON of 35.1 million in 2022, a 36% increase compared to 2021, and a net profit of RON 258 thousand, a 137% increase compared to the loss recorded in the previous year.
“2022 represents an important inflection point in the future evolution of the company, being the most important year in 2Performant’s recent history, in which we managed to reach a turnover and financial results superior to the estimations included in the 2020 listing memorandum. These results are even more remarkable as 2Performant registered accelerated growth in an eCommerce industry that stagnated in 2022, which caused the share of online sales in Romania generated by 2Performant to increase from 1% in 2021 to 1.62% in 2022. This year’s performance is a result of both the projects we implemented, such as Big Bear and Business League, as well as the rapid reorganization of the company just a few weeks after the start of the war in Ukraine. At that time, our management team correctly and timely anticipated the impact of the conflict on the global economy, which allowed us to adjust our strategy well before other similar players. Thus, our current forecasts confirm that the trend of accelerating the growth of 2Performant will be at the same level in 2023, allowing us to deliver operational and financial results at least at the previously estimated level“, stated Dorin Boerescu, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of 2Performant.
In 2022, 2Performant recorded an operating income of RON 38.9 million, a 43% increase compared to 2021. This increase is mainly due to the increase in turnover by 36% and the income from the production of tangible and intangible assets by 135%, up to RON 3.5 million. At the same time, operating income (turnover minus commissions owed to affiliates) increased by 29%, reaching RON 8.8 million in 2022, compared to RON 6.9 million in 2021.
At the level of the RON 35.1 million turnover recorded in 2022, the Romanian market contributed 86%, while 14% of it was generated on the foreign market, an increase in percentage as well as in absolute value as a result of the strategy to expand the company outside the country. In terms of revenue by the payment method, pre-paid vs. post-paid, this split was almost equal in 2022. Post-paid growth was 34%, compared to pre-paid, which was 40%.
“In the coming period, we will focus on further developing the Product Development and Business Intelligence team. All 2Performant development projects are carried out with internal resources, representing an investment both for the company and the other ecosystem participants. In addition, in 2023, we will continue to promote our marketing gamification concept by adding gaming components to the 2Performant platform. In this way, we will become a business game with an unbeatable monetization model, creating added value along the entire production and distribution chain,” added Dorin Boerescu.
Regarding the operational results recorded by the company in 2022, the 2Performant platform generated sales worth EUR 101.9 million (without VAT), a 39% increase compared to 2021, surpassing the EUR 100 million threshold in the value of sales generated in a single year. During this period, the 24,148 users of the 2Performant platform sent 85.9 million clicks, a 25% increase compared to 2021. The number of sales in 2022 amounted to approximately 2 million, a 40% increase compared to 2021, while affiliate commissions were EUR 6.2 million, a 34% appreciation.
2Performant’s developments significantly contributed to achieving these results during 2022, including Big Bear, a new attribution system that improves the accuracy of traffic and conversions generated by affiliates. By the end of 2022, this system was activated by more than 270 stores and captured more than 183.000 additional sales generated by affiliates for the stores in 2Performant. Also, in 2022, the company launched Business League, the first decentralized marketing competition in the world, which has as its criterion the number of sales generated. In the pilot season of the competition, which took place over 16 weeks, participating affiliates and stores generated 29.4 million clicks and over 715.000 online sales.
