The sixth edition of the Night of the Cultural Institutes brings foreign culture closer to people in 14 locations across Bucharest. The event will take place on the night of Friday to Saturday, June 22. The Bucharest public transport operator RATB announced several bus lines will run in the city center on the occasion.
A project developed by EUNIC in Romania, the Night of Cultural Institutes includes events proposed by the British Council, the Czech Center, the Hungarian Cultural Centre, the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Greek Cultural Foundation, the Goethe Institute, the Cervantes Institute, the Camões Institute / Embassy of Portugal, the Romanian Cultural Institute, the French Institute, the Italian Cultural Institute Vito Grasso, the Polish Institute, the Ukraine Cultural Centre, the Turkish Cultural Centre Yunus Emre and then Wallonie-Brussels Delegation.

Workshops for children – trilingual story readings, origami and rubik workshops, fashion show, Hungarian traditional dances, movie projection, with gulas, the traditional Hungarian food, served for everyone at midnight.

The British Council invites visitors to a night dedicated to Olympic Games 2012 with board games Olympics, library triathlon @British, debates, Sports Pub Quiz, how to become a top athlete with advice from WorldClass, a workshop of sportive journalism and several discounts for institute’s library.

The Cervantes Institute celebrates at the same time the Day of the Spanish Language with several activities and contests, a Spanish reading workshop, books launching, a flamenco concert, photographic micro-stories presented in 15 minutes, a tortilla of shorts up films, Spanish food and drinks.

Beer, a workshop on how to love football with curator Oana Tanase from MNAC, the Arabela movie (1979, Cehoslovacia, director: Václav Vorlícek, 390 min), Baschet & Czech Ice Hockey and a series of trailers – 40 classical films seen in two hours.

Fado music played by Maria Raducanu and Sorin Terinte, Fado exhibition and Portuguese food will entertain the public in a Portuguese way.
The French Institute will hold several themed workshops for food and cinema lovers, piano concerts, short theatre representations of Caragiale’s famous plays, shorts up films, the Pif Gadget exhibition as well as wine tasting.

Workshop for learning Turkish language, a projection of the film Once in Anatolia (director: Nuri Bilge Ceylan), artistic creation workshops with water paintings, TEZHIP and HUSNUHAT calligraphy art, a baglama concert, traditional Turkish dances and Turkish culinary art.
