October is set to be a busy month for Bucharest’s pop and rock fans. The first to arrive will be The Cranberries, who will bring their Roses tour to town on October 11, with a gig at Romexpo.

This is the Irish band’s second visit to Romania and they will be promoting their latest album, which features the songs Tomorrow, Fire and Soul, Schizophrenic Playboy and Show Me the Way.

Next up, 70s UK legends Status Quo will play Romania for the first time in a concert at Sala Palatului on October 17. Fans will have the chance to rock out to the band’s classic hits and new material from their recent album, Quid Pro Quo.

Moving to the harder end of the spectrum, Swedish rock metal outfit Therion is on tour to mark the band’s 25-year music career. Their concert will take place on October 19, at Arenele Romane, where local fans can enjoy the likes of Lemuria, Summernight City and ToMega Therion for the third time.

Striking a mellower tone, lovers of nostalgic Italian pop can finally see the one-man show Gianni Luigi Morandi. His Romanian debut promises to be an entertaining evening on October 27, at Sala Palatului.

The month will end on an upbeat note, when Dutch BZN rock Sala Palatului on October 28. Band Zonder Naam, which means “band without a name” in Dutch, began playing in the 60s, with songs like Blue Eyes, Just An Illusion and We All Will Dance making them an international name in the charts alongside the like of The Rolling Stones, ABBA, and The Beatles.
