Private healthcare services provider Regina Maria, owned by Mid Europa Partners, has taken over Bucharest-based Ponderas Hospital, the medical unit specialized on metabolic and bariatric surgery.
Fady Chreih, CEO of Regina Maria, said that through this acquisition, Ponderas will become the biggest hospital in the company’s network.
Ponderas has treated over 250,000 patients in its policlinic and hospital. It has carried out over 7,000 bariatric interventions.
Following the deal, the general manager of Ponderas Hospital, Dr. Catalin Copaescu, said the capacity of services and number of specialties provided by the unit will go up.
Ponderas has 141 beds, 35 medical offices and eight operating rooms. The hospital registered a turnover of EUR 16, 1 million last year.
