The nineteenth edition of Gaudeamus International Book and Education Fair (IBEF) will launch tomorrow, celebrating Romanian language and culture. At this year’s edition Moldova is a country guest of honor, in a call to dialog and recognition of the latest movements in Moldovan literature and culture. Moreover, Italy returns to the fair as privileged guest: reputed Italian writers, journalists, editors and literary agents will be at the heart of the events organized this year in the Italian stand.

Gaudeamus IBEF inaugurates this year a new section dedicated to foreign literary agents who activate on the international book market. This is a strong opportunity for Romanian authors, editors, translators and literary agents to meet in Bucharest the representatives of several international top literary agencies. Also, a round table about The Role of Literary Agents on the International Book Market in the Digital Era will bring forth the profile of the literary agent as far as copyright exchanges and fostering dialogue between cultures are concerned. The event will take place on Thursday, November 22, 2012, from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m in Cupola Conference Room (Romexpo Central Pavilion). Moderator: Simona Kessler. Guests: literary agents and copyright managers fromItaly,Germany,UK,Spain,Turkey,RomaniaandUSA, Romanian editors, authors and book professionals.

Between November 21st – 25th the exhibition will be at the focus again at the fair. Meanwhile, The Imaginary History of Books and Writing became a permanent exhibition and acquired new photos signed by Jean Marc Godès.

Over 400 Romanian and foreign publishers, printing houses, educational institutions, cultural institutes and centers, book distributors, multimedia companies, NGOs with a cultural and/or educational profile, professional associations, book shops and libraries are awaiting visitors during the fair.
