Full Moon Film Festival returns to Biertan Fortified Church

Six feature-length movies will compete for the festival trophy in Biertan, one of Romania’s most famous villages owing to its amazing fortified church, where the projections will take place at the horror&fantasy film festival called Luna Plina (Full Moon). The films to be screened in competition were chosen by the festival’s artistic director Andrei Crețulescu for exclusive national premieres.

This year’s jury, composed of Artur Brzozowski (Fantasy FilmFest programmer – Germany), Tom Lukaszewicz (Black Bear Filmfest co-director – Poland) and Mihai Chirilov (TIFF artistic director), will choose from the following titles: Coherence (USA, 2013), In Fear (UK, 2013), It Follows (USA, 2013), Sonno profondo (Argentina, 2013), Summer of Blood (USA, 2014) and What We Do in the Shadows (New Zealand, 2014).

This year’s special guests, Taika Waititi, who was Oscar-nominated in 2005 for his short film, Two Cars, One Night and wrote the cult comedy Eagle vs Shark, and Jemaine Clement, who appeared in Men in Black 3 and voiced a character in Rio, will be in Biertan throughout the festival.

The event takes place between July 23-27 in Biertan village, Sibiu county. More information about the festival can be read on the official website of the festival.
