DNA prosecutors raid Ministry of EU Funds and other institutions over alleged fraud

National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) prosecutors made searches on Monday at the Ministry of European Funds (MFE), AM-POSDRU, AM-POSCCE in the same file in which investigators raided the Regional Development Agency (ADR) West, having been targeted possible fraud with EU funds and forgery, facts allegedly committed in 2007-2013.

According to Mediafax, quoting a press release issued by the DNA, research is currently undergoing regarding a criminal case aiming suspicion of committing crimes against the financial interests of the European Union and forgery crimes, committed in the period of 2007-2013.

In this file, prosecutors made 23 searches in Bucharest and Ilfov, Timis, Caras-Severin and Teleorman counties, out of which four at the headquarters of various public institutions, and the rest at the headquarters of certain companies and residences, said the DNA.

Judicial sources stated that the other four institutions where searches took place are the Ministry of European Funds, the Managing Authority for the Sector Operational Programme – Human Resources Development (AM-POSDRU), the Managing Authority for the Sector Operational Programme – Increase of Economic Competitiveness (AM-POSCCE) and the Regional Development Agency (ADR) West in Timisoara.

Prosecutors are supported in this case by the Romanian Intelligence Service and by the Special Intervention Brigade within the Gendarmerie.
