Baroque Nocturnal at the National Library in Bucharest

The National Library will be the host of a classical music show. Classical music by Bach, Vivaldi, Scarlatti and Händel will be heard from the Dambovita river banks, on the National Library Esplanada, as part of the festival Baroque Nocturnal.

Access to all events is free of charge.

The event is organized by cultural association Kitarodia and the National Library. The festival will open with a lute performance by Olivia Iancu and Claudiu Lobonţ on September 3, from 20:30. After their performance, a guitar recital by Maxim Belciug and Tiberiu Gogoanţă will follow. The evening will close with music by John Dowland, Antonio Vivaldi and Johann Sebastian Bach.

Below is the entire schedule of the festival Baroque Nocturnal:

Tuesday, September 4: violin and guitar recital with a focus on violinist Natalia Pancec; medieval show by Nomen Est Omen

Wednesday, September 5: Soprano Rodica Vica and her team, with Handel works and opera pieces.

Thursday, September 6: guitar recital by Maxim Belciug and cello player Răzvan Suma, music by Gaspar Sanz, Ernst Gottlieb Baron, Robert de Visée, François Couperin, Jean Philippe Rameau and Johann Sebastian Bach.

Friday, September 7: guitar performance by Olivia Iancu and Claudiu Lobonţ, music by Domenico Scarlatti and Santiago de Murcia; harp performance by on Ivan-Roncea

Saturday, September 8: harpsichord recital by Irina Năstase. Festival ends with soloist Pilar Diaz Romero singing 16th to 18th century Neapolitan music.
