In Adunatii Copaceni, the most likely location for the new airport, small plots of land of 500 sqm to at most 1,500 sqm are being sold for EUR 25 to EUR 50 per sqm, say the firm's researchers.
Some plots that border the national road DN5 are commanding even higher sums, of EUR 70 to EUR 80 per sqm.
Prices in the area decrease the further the land is from the street, with some plots being sold for EUR 15 to EUR 25 per sqm.
According to Eurometropola, investors who bought undeveloped land where the airport is tipped to be built snapped up their plots for EUR 1 to EUR 6 per sqm, but they also acquired large areas, of at least 10,000 sqm.
The consultants think that southern Bucharest mostly attracts buyers due to its relatively low prices and the big plots of land which are on the market.
In the neighboring areas, like Berceni, prices range from EUR 100 to EUR 400 per sqm for land inside the city and EUR 80 to EUR 200 for plots outside Berceni.
