The National SME Loan Guarantee Fund (FNGCIMM) has announced the launch of the 2019 edition of the Prima Casa programme after having received the distribution agreement from the Finance Ministry for the amount of RON 1.98 billion of the total cap of RON 2 billion, according to a press release by the institution.

According to the Fund’s statement, the 2019 programme has the same criteria for the state to provide a guarantee to financing approved by banks participating in the programme.

“For 10 years, the Prima Casa programme has naturally expanded access to credit for young people under 35, offering them a chance to purchase a home. By the end of 2018, FNGCIMM awarded over 260,000 guarantees and guarantee promises for the acquisition or construction of homes across Romania. We are ready to launch the eleventh year of the programme with better operational processes, new technologies and parameters that are in line with current financial sector trends,” said Gheorghe Lapadat, the General Director of FNGCIMM.

Prima Casa 2019 will be carried out through 15 banks: BRD-GSG, BCR, Banca Transilvania, CEC Bank, ING Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, OTP Bank, Banca Romaneasca, Unicredit Bank, Garanti Bank, First Bank, Marfin Bank, Credit Agricole, Leumi Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank.

“The new automatic data extraction/processing tool, known within FNGCIMM as ‘Alex’, uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology and facilitates the automatic transfer of data received from banking partners to the institution’s computer system. This way, the risk of human error caused by manual intervention in data collection is reduced to a minimum and the processing time can also be considerably lower,” the institution wrote.
