There are 1,166 hubs and co-working spaces in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), a report by PIN Maps and Fab Lab Iasi shows.
According to the study’s authors, the development of co-working spaces in a city is closely linked to the economic indicators in that city, region or country. Additionally, the share between the capital and regional cities are an indicator of the health of the development of the region.
In March 2018 there were 1,166 hubs and co-working spaces either independent or part of global networks such as Impact Hub and more in cities with over 50,000 inhabitants in the CEE. Moreover, new locations are opening every month across the region.
Co-working is a sociological and professional binder that prevents the isolation of freelancers which mostly work from home, and leads to the increase of the quality of their work. Moreover, bringing entrepreneurs and freelancers under the same roof spurs entrepreneurship.
The report was made by PIN Maps, the map of modern offices in Iasi, an initiative supporting the IT and outsourcing industry and Fab Lab Iasi, a co-working space opened in 2017.
