Workspaces provider Spaces is opening its third location in Bucharest in the Expo Business Park building, on a 4,106 sqm space that will include 457 workstations. The space will be ready to use in the third quarter of 2019 and with it, the company will reach more than 10,000 sqm of office space in Romania.

“The demand for flexible working spaces continues to grow in Bucharest, because companies are increasingly preoccupied with cutting costs related to long-term rentals and offering their employees more freedom to work when and where they want. Spaces’ activities are aligned with the global trends in flexible working spaces,” said Ramona Predescu (Iacob), Country Manager at Spaces Romania.

Apart from the space at Expo Business Park, Spaces owns two more locations in Bucharest in Unirii View Tower with 3,000 sqm (1st to 3rd floor) and the Campus 6.1 building, with 3,100 sqm (1st and 2nd floors).

According to Cushman & Wakefield Echinox data, in the first half of this year, the operators of co-working spaces rented office space of almost 20,000 sqm in existing or developing buildings in Bucharest, with a 13,4 percent share in the total volume of transactions, estimated at about 150,000 sqm.

Spaces is part of the International Workspace Group (IWG), a corporation that provides global workspaces. Founded in 1989 in Brussels, Belgium, it has brands such as Spaces, Regus, Basepoint, No.18, Signature and Open Office. Among the companies that have chosen Spaces internationally are Uber, Spotify, Airbnb, Paypal, Microsoft, Logitech or Oracle.
