Mobexpert puts EUR 2 mln into Iasi store

The store covers 7,000 sqm inside Era Shopping Park Iasi. The opening was included in the second expansion stage of Mobexpert's network in Romania, which is part of the company's regional brand consolidation strategy. The retailer will continue expansion in the coming years, both in Romania and regionally, according to representatives. Mobexpert had previously opened similar sized stores in Suceava, Pitesti and Sibiu. The retailer runs two types of outlets – hyperstores and shops for home furniture and decorations under the Mobexpert brand and office furniture under the Mobexpert Office brand. It has reached a 34-store network in Romania, with nine hyperstores in Bucharest, Brasov, Suceava, Pitesti, Sibiu and Iasi, and 23 smaller shops across the country. It also runs a large store in Sofia, Bulgaria, which was opened in 2007. The Mobexpert group was set up in 1993 by Dan and Camelia Sucu. It now has 3,000 staff and includes 10 retail companies, eight furniture factories, six import companies and three firms providing services. The group posted EUR 169 million in turnover last year.
