Blue Projects has delivered the first ROCKWOOL factory in Romania, an EUR 50 million investment, located on a 30 ha plot in PWP Bucharest North, in Aricestii Rahtivani, Prahova County. The factory has a floor area of 13,000 sqm and a production capacity of approximately 45,000 tons per year, being the largest facility of its kind in Romania.
ROCKWOOL, one of the largest mineral wool manufacturers in the world, has appointed Blue Projects in February 2018 to provide design review, tender support, and project and construction management services. “I would like to thank Blue Projects for their support in the past 18 months. I was privileged to have worked with such a professional and hardworking team of engineers,” said Radu Andrei, Project Manager ROCKWOOL Romania.
“It was a great pleasure to work for ROCKWOOL and we are looking forward to another opportunity in the near future, either in Romania again or one of the other 25 countries where we are delivering projects”, said Umut Demircan, Managing Partner Blue Projects.
The new facility generated more than 150 jobs in production and another 300 logistics jobs for the local community. The factory is delivering complete insulation solutions for facades, roofs, terraces, floors and walls, manufactured with locally sourced materials – mineral wool is processed from basalt, a fairly common volcanic rock in Romania.
