Onofrei joins Goodman from his property company Aleph Properties, having also run the local operation of another industrial developer, American ProLogis. Previously, Onofrei worked for local real estate agency Eurisko as head of its industrial department.
Goodman, which invests in developing warehouse facilities, has announced further expansion in the CEE region. The firm will open a third office in Poland, to join its existing ones in Warsaw and Krakow. The company has acquired 31 hectares of land in Budapest, where it will build 155,000 sqm of warehousing.
Goodman has already agreed a leasing deal with Rossmann, the German health and beauty chain, on a unit of some 27,000 sqm in the project.
The firm also closed a second deal involving a 21,000-sqm development site in Gyal-Budapest.
The site is adjacent to another, existing unit within its portfolio, currently let to Hopi.
Goodman owns, develops and manages industrial property and business space. The company invests in business parks, office parks, industrial estates and warehouse and distribution centers.
It also runs several property funds. The company manages EUR 11.4 billion of assets and 371 properties.
In Europe, Goodman manages three investment funds, Arlington Business Parks Partnership, Goodman European Business Parks Fund and Goodman European Logistics Fund.
