Depaco sees tile sales up 30 percent on increasing market segment

The firm's production capacity is 200,000 sqm of metal roofing tiles. “After finishing a new industrial warehouse, we will buy equipment for metal tiles, as well as for other products,” added Irimescu. Most of Depaco's sales come from the south east of the country. The local metal tiles market has been undervalued in the past, but it seems it will be among the few market segments which will record growth in 2009, at least in terms of sold volumes, if not by value, said the company owner. “We could reach 14 to 15 million sqm of sold metal tiles this year on the Romanian market, while its value will stay at some EUR 150 million for full roofing systems,” he added. Local production covers around 70 percent of the market, the rest being accounted for by imports.
