Romanian pavers and borders manufacturer Symmetrica has begun exporting in the Republic of Moldova and is presently in advanced talks to enter the Ukrainian market, said company representatives.
The company has two factories close to the Moldavian and Ukrainian borders at Podu Iloaiei (Iasi county) and Veresti (Suceava county) which allows it to export to the two countries at affordable transport costs, said Sebastian Bobu, Symmetrica’s managing director.
Symmetrica first contract in the Republic of Moldova is to supply 30,000 m of pavers and borders required for refurbishment constructions of sidewalks and public parkings in the town of Ungheni.
Symmetrica was set up 18 years ago and has since invested over EUR 18.5 million in its five factories, two of which were opened this year. The five factories produce about 11,500 meters of pavers and borders each day. Some 70 percent of this year’s sale volumes were generated by public projects.
