Immochan started a transformation process of the Auchan Drumul Taberei commercial centre in 2017, leading to the enlargement of the commercial surface by 2,400 sqm, improving the retail mix and adding 30 new stores.

The centre is on track with planned works, now at two thirds completion level. The relocation phase of the main leasers – Flanco, Decimas, Pepco, Hippoland and dm, from ground level to first level, was successfully finished in January 2018.

80 percent of the commercial centre’s surface is already leased out to Romanian and international retailers. Starbucks, 5 to go, KFC, Calif, Crouton, Sushi Master and Nedelya are the new food-court units. The retail mix is completed by the services sector through Norauto, UPC, Top Shop and Bookcity library, a brand with Brasov origins.

Alina Houseaux, the centre’s manager, said: “For Immochan, each commercial centre is unique. From the architecture to the retail mix, everything is conceived to meet the community’s expectations. We want the centre to become the favourite meeting place of clients in Drumul Taberei and nearby neighbourhoods, where people come with friends and family to enjoy a shopping experience, to socialise, to take part in events or get involved in the life of the community.”

The EUR 10 million investment is aimed to stimulate the sustainable local development of the Drumul Taberei community.
