The two acquired companies will strengthen SNC Lavalin's position in Eastern Europe. “These two acquisitions are part of our strategy to develop our technical expertise and our geographical coverage in regions with high growth potential,” said Pierre Duhaime, executive vice-president of the group.
Further to these acquisitions, SNC-Lavalin is currently working on projects for local and foreign clients in Romania and elsewhere in Europe. The Canadian group was among the companies which bought tender documents for the construction of Cernavoda's 3 and 4 reactors. The SNC-Lavalin companies have offices across Canada and in over 35 other countries and are currently working in some 100 countries.
Romanian company Romproiect runs activities in architecture, design, consultancy and project management for construction. The company is working on several projects, such as Galleria Buzau, Piatra Neamt and Suceava, Palas Union Hotel and several residential compounds.
