The Bucharest municipality is planning to start works on several infrastructure projects this year, included a suspended street, which could cost around EUR 11 million, according to the capital’s mayor, Sorin Oprescu. The suspended street would connect the future Bucharest-Brasov highway and Iuliu Maniu Boulevard to the Bucharest-Pitesti highway.

Around 7.5 kilometers of the street will be completed this year, according to Oprescu’s plans. Works on the project would be financed with funds from the local budget and through a public-private partnership. Toll money that drivers would be charged for using the suspended street would then go to the local budget.
