Archicom has signed a contract with Mega Image to design the retailer’s new distribution center, spreading on a 100,000-sqm surface in Popesti Leordeni, south-east Bucharest.
The contract covers the feasibility and logistic studies, as well as the design works. In 2009, Archicom was selected as consultant to carry out a series of studies for the Mega Image distribution network to determine the size of the new distribution center outside Bucharest.
Mega Image is owned by Belgian group Delhaize. In Romania the group has 57 supermarkets in Bucharest, Ilfov county, Constanta and Ploiesti.
The retailer operates its outlets under the Mega Image brand (50 stores) and Red Market (seven stores).
This year, it has opened six new stores in Bucharest, Constanta and Otopeni.
Archicom provides consultancy services in architecture and project management for all types of industrial developments as well as consultancy in logistics for retailers, manufacturers, developers and transporters.
