“We have already signed a contract with Golden Tulip and we estimate that construction works will be completed in September,” said Razvan Teaca, economic manager of Ana Oil. The hotel will deliver 81 rooms on 13 levels in the center of Sibiu, plus a restaurant of 100 covers, two conference rooms for 50 guests, a bar and a fitness club, besides two underground parking lots. Ana Oil is the owner of Sibiu-based three-star hotel Ana, which has been operating since 2001, and also plans to deliver by yearend a Cluj-based hotel under the Ana brand with 110 rooms.
Six hotels in Romania, four of which are in Bucharest, are operating under the Golden Tulip franchise. The latest investment involving the Dutch brand is from investment fund Reconstruction Capital II Limited, which early this year bought the majority share package in local Antares Hotels, which runs Fantasy Beach Hotel in Mamaia, for EUR 8 million. The hotel will be rebranded as Golden Tulip, as the investment fund has chosen consultancy company Peacock Hotels to manage it. Golden Tulip is a Dutch franchise company which has 250 hotels in 37 countries under the four- and five-star brand Golden Tulip and the three-star Tulip Inn.
