Deloitte Romania appoints Alin Chitu, tax professional with nearly 20 years' experience, as Tax Partner.

Deloitte Romania has recruited Alin Chitu for the position of Tax Partner, reporting to Vlad Boeriu, Tax and Legal Partner-in-Charge. With a vast expertise in fiscal advisory, built along almost two decades, Alin Chitu’s new role will be to contribute to the expansion of Deloitte Romania’s tax practice.

Alin has always been a very smart, knowledgeable and entrepreneurial professional with a strong understanding of business and orientation towards relationship building, to which he has added, in the recent years, a privileged understanding of macro-economics and public policy issues. Alin Chitu has focused on the fiscal field for almost his entire career, working as a consultant in large professional services firms or as a freelancer. He started his career in Deloitte Romania, in 2005, as a tax consultant. His career path included various roles over the years, such as local expert with the World Bank and state secretary with the Ministry of Finance, where he contributed to reshaping the tax legislative framework, was involved in projects with the EU Commission and in Romania’s negotiation process for becoming a member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Alin holds a bachelor’s degree in finance insurance, banks and stock exchange, and a master’s degree in European public governance.

Deloitte’s Tax practice in Romania is a leader in its field and provides a broad range of fully integrated tax services, from corporate and local income tax, indirect taxation, customs, global employer services, to transfer pricing and business process solutions, through over 200 professionals.
