Aurelia Costache is the new leader of EY EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India and Africa) Intelligent Automation. Her new position is a recognition of the strategic role she has played in promoting automation solutions regionally over the past five years. Aurelia Costache will be responsible for further expanding these services across EMEIA.

In this role, I plan to promote a collaborative framework based on expertise areas in automation and Artificial Intelligence technologies in order to provide our clients with access to the most advanced solutions supporting their strategic business goals in the context of the transformations we are going through, regardless of geographical areas,” says Aurelia Costache on her appointment as EY EMEIA Intelligent Automation Leader.

Under the leadership of Aurelia Costache, the Romanian automation team has gained a leading position in the region, being involved both in large-scale international projects and in developing local projects, as well as in organizing market education and information events (the series of annual conferences on automation). Ever since it was founded in 2016, Aurelia Costache has contributed to the development of the Bucharest-based EY excellence center for process automation, which services both the local and the global market in the implementation of RPA, OCR, ML and chatbots, with more than 100 projects unfolded over the latest years.

“In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for transformation has put digitalization in the spotlight not just as a mere alternative to the traditional business models, but as an imperative for market presence continuity. As we also debated at the 5th automation conference, which was held online in early October this year, the long-term value of automation has become all the more obvious as digitalization has extended beyond the limits of the business area and now encompasses all aspects of society: public administration, healthcare services, education, and entertainment, just to name a few examples,” says Aurelia Costache.

Aurelia Costache has an experience spanning more than 22 years in the area of consultancy, as well as expertise in the finance and banking, and telecom industries. She is also a Partner and Consulting Services Leader, EY Romania.

Bogdan Ion, Country Managing Partner EY Romania and Moldova and Chief Operating Officer for EY South-East & Central Europe and Central Asia: “This strategic role, entrusted to one of our leaders in Romania, represents a major achievement for the local team, which is based on the continued efforts and on the commitment in the latest years to advance intelligent automation solutions across the region and worldwide. With this new structure, EY’s clients in Romania will be able to enjoy quicker access to EMEIA and EY Global expertise resources and to scalable solutions generating long-term added value.

At regional level, EY EMEIA is consolidating its team and resources in the area of automation and Artificial Intelligence, with an approach focused on the long-term value that technology solutions may offer. Technology alongside people and innovation constitute the three main pillars of the NextWave global strategy, with the aid of which the company aims at helping companies in the process of integrating digital transformation in their long-term growth strategy.
