Voxa, the leader in audiobook and e-book apps in Romania, strengthens its regional management team and appoints Alecsandra Roman to the position of Chief Marketing Officer for Romania and regional expansion projects starting in 2024.

In this role, Alecsandra will define the vision of the Voxa brand, the structure of the team and the marketing model and will deal with attracting talent in key positions. With over 15 years of experience in marketing and communications, she will coordinate brand and growth marketing strategy and execution, position Voxa globally and scale communications efforts in a still emerging but very dynamic category.

Alecsandra joined Voxa’s management six months ago and has already left her mark on the company’s strategic initiatives and Black Friday, “Story Month” and “Radiophonic Theater is back” communication campaigns.

“Voxa already has a positive impact on book consumption in Romania and I always wanted to put my vision and creative energy behind a brand that contributes to the development of society. Beyond this, the challenge at the business level, the universe of mobile applications, but also the growth and definition of the benefits of this category attracted me from the first moment. Audiobooks are a very engaging storytelling format, listening stimulates your imagination and allows you to take the books with you in any context. We have many plans to increase brand and category visibility in the coming months,” said Alecsandra Roman, CMO of Voxa.

Before joining Voxa, Alecsandra held the position of Senior Regional Marketing Manager at Netflix, where in recent years she contributed to the scaling of marketing efforts in Central and Eastern Europe, with a focus on Poland and Romania. The experience in the area of streaming, tech and content marketing, as well as the challenge and ambitious plans of Voxa created the perfect mix for Alecsandra to join the team.

“With a deep vision of the limitless potential of digital storytelling, Alecsandra brings with her the experience and passion we need to expand our horizons and redefine the way people enjoy books. We are delighted to have such a dynamic and creative leader in the team, and together we are more ready than ever to open new chapters in the Voxa story and bring the magic of books into the lives of even more people, in Romania and beyond,” added Dan Vidrașcu, CEO of Voxa.

Alecsandra’s projects during her time at Netflix include the global repositioning of the 365 Days franchise, the launch of marketing efforts in Russia (before the start of the conflicts), the promotion of The Witcher franchise in the region, as well as the scaling of marketing efforts in Romania, with a focus on franchises such as La Casa de Papel, Stranger Things, Lupin, Bridgerton and Wednesday.

From this position, Alecsandra created campaigns with a transformative role in the area of free media and viral content, at the intersection of marketing and pop culture. The Electric Castle stunt orchestrated for Stranger Things in collaboration with the festival and the band Twenty One Pilots generated over 200 million organic views in one week and is the first CEE campaign with global impact published on global Netflix accounts and countless other countries.

Throughout her career, the communication campaigns Alecsandra has worked on have been recognized by the MARCOMM industry with 2 Grand Effie awards and over 10 other competition awards, Gold and Silver at Cannes and countless Clio, Eurobest, IAB MIXX and other awards international and local competitions.
