Better work life balance with new performance management tool

The new performance management tool which was lunched by the Romanian entrepreneur Gina Calagiu promises business efficiency and growth as a result of the “work life balance” system implementation. The tool also promises increased employee motivation based on the PAAS technique: plan, action, analyze, select. Calagiu told BR how this management tool works.

Why do organizations need a performance management tool?

Technically speaking, performance means effectiveness and efficiency, or, simpler, how to do things right. I can tell that an organization where every employee knows clearly what to do, reports its weekly achievements and celebrates its monthly progress is definitely a profitable company in which the team actions synergetic in the same direction. But for this to happen, every employee needs to plan and monitor the progress with joy and out of habit. To come this far, you need a friendly instrument which could follow your steps until the planning and the monitoring becomes reflex – a beneficial tool for both the personal and professional life.

How did you discover the PAAS technique?

The PAAS technique was discovered together with an expert team when we decided to integrate each management concept we knew, such as strategic management, performance management, time management, project management and quality management, into a simpler model which can help you to accomplish your objectives and goals step by step.

How much does it cost?

The Agenius kit is a personal development instrument and also a continuous training for the user, which costs 15 cents/day or EUR 56/year.

How does this tool work?

Agenius is a continuous personal development program integrated in an agenda. We chose this format in order to grow the probability for the instrument to be used 365 days. This agenda has four levels of utility. On the first level, you learn how to make the difference between important and urgent, to give daily time for important things that happen to you in both professional and personal life. The second level you actually learn to make a habit of weekly writing, while the third level teaches you how to celebrate you weekly achievements and monthly progress. The fourth level represents the ultimate level, when you already know how to select what you like to do and what instrument functions for you to transform it in your personal success model.

Do you have users for this tool? Who are they?

In 2012, the instrument was used in a pilot program and it was tested by 1500 users, most of them being employees in telecom national and multinational companies, HoReCa, retail, bank industry, FMCG, agro or medical industry. The kit was tested from operator level to manager level. The 2013 edition is improved and it was launched on the market on December 10. In the first five days we already sold 380 kits.

How long it takes before the results of using the tool are visible?

It depends on the results you wish to obtain. I can tell from experience that in the past year, there were users who achieved results in one year or in a few months. From the users’ testimonials, we found out that this instrument increases your self confidence; you obtain clarity, control reduce your stress; obtain the balance between what you want and what you do personal or professional and also plan and monitor the progress out of habit.
