AS A FIRST FOR TIMIŞOARA, A KINDERGARTEN AND PRIMARY SCHOOL WITH TEACHING IN ENGLISH, PER THE BRITISH CURRICULUM, WILL OPEN IN OPENVILLE

The private education institution Wendy Kids in Timişoara, having an experience of approximately 10 years in this field, will open in the Openville mixed-use project the first education unit in the city teaching classes exclusively in English, where pupils will study per the British curriculum.

In March 2019, Wendy Kids will open a kindergarten and, subsequently, next year in September a primary school will start its operation as well. “We are introducing a new concept, where parents, children and teachers will conduct their activity as per the British curriculum. Our education unit has commenced the steps for acquiring authorizations from the National Department of Education, Cambridge Assessment and COBIS, so as to be able to provide education specific to the system in Great Britain and to cover the Cambridge type curriculum,” stated Carmen Sporea, founder of the Wendy Kids Kindergarten and Primary School.

Wendy Kids – Kindergarten and Primary School will be deployed on a 1,000 sqm area which is to be located in premises specially developed on the terrace of Iulius Mall Timişoara, an integral part of the Openville mixed-use project. The education institution will have eight spacious classrooms, a science laboratory, a gym hall, a multifunctional hall dedicated to artistic activities, dining hall and a medical office. The 385 sqm outdoor yard will be specially fitted-out for children, providing them with recreation options and open-air activities.

The classrooms will be fitted with ergonomic furniture, laptop computers, interactive boards, projection appliance and other up-to-date teaching means, so as to facilitate the learning process.

Groups will comprise maximum 15 pupils, so each child will benefit from the entire attention and care of the teachers, and the teaching staff will have the qualifications required for teaching per the British system.

Admission and applications for the Wendy Kids Kindergarten in Openville Timişoara will be carried out during December 2018 – February 2019. Admission and applications for the primary school will be carried out in the interval February – April 2019.

About Openville Timişoara

The largest business, retail and entertainment hub in the west of Romania will be opened in the fourth quarter of this year upon the completion of the first phase of development. Openville will comprise: 47,000 sqm of additional retail area, 50,000 sqm of office buildings in operation and other 52,000 sqm pending construction, a park, a traffic underpass and new parking spaces.

After the two office buildings that were completed in 2017, works are in progress for another two buildings, for the new retail spaces, the underground parking and the traffic underpass that will ease up the traffic within the entire area.

The Openville mixed-use project is developed by the IULIUS and Atterbury Europe companies, representing an estimated investment of 220 million Euros.
