AMERICAN BRAND KIEHL`S TO OPEN ITS FIRST STORE IN THE WEST OF ROMANIA, LOCATED IN THE OPENVILLE TIMIŞOARA MIXED-USE PROJECT

Kiehl’s, the New York-based pharmacy and company that creates high-quality skin and hair care products, will open its first store in the west of Romania – and its fifth in this country – this July in Timişoara. The store will be located in Iulius Mall, part of the Openville Timişoara mixed-use project – the development thereof is well underway and it will complete the retail offer of the current shopping mall with 47,000 sqm of additional premises, adding up to a total of 118,000 sqm.

The store in Openville Timişoara will be the third within the shopping mall network of IULIUS, following those in Palas Mall Iaşi and Iulius Mall Cluj.

The Kiehl`s brand is built on a legacy spanning more than 165 years of researching ingredients and testing formulas, providing high-quality professional skin and hair care products. In the Kiehl`s store, clients can find hair, nails, body and hair creams, serums and masks for women and men alike.

The store in Openville Timişoara will have a special look, similar to Colonial-style pharmacies, and including features referencing the New York origins of the company.

Kiehl’s owns more than 250 stores worldwide, in the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia. The brand entered the Romanian market in 2015 and currently has four stores in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Iaşi.

Restaurants and themed cafés, VIP cinema, park and new brands

The retail component of the Openville Timişoara mixed-use project will comprise more than 47,000 sqm of additional spaces; the new premises will be fitted out in an expansion wing of Iulius Mall Timişoara, at the ground floor of the office buildings and in the proximity of the upcoming park.

Openville Timişoara will be the venue where you can spend your day shopping, dine with friends, stroll with your family in the park, relax on the park lawn, or enjoy cultural events and many others. International brands will join the major retailers that already operate in Iulius Mall, and a part of these latter retailers will expand their operations. Moreover, the Cinema City operator will expand up to a total of 12 movie theaters and will introduce the citizens of Timişoara to the premiering concept of VIP cinema, i.e. dinner and a movie, on an ultra-all-inclusive basis.

In addition, in the center of the ensemble will be set up a park with many leisure options, but also with a variety of restaurants and cafes in the vicinity.

The first phase of development for the largest mixed-use project in the west of Romania is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of this year, and it will include: new retail premises, 50,000 sqm of office premises in operation (three buildings) and another 52,000 sqm under construction (one building), as well as the park, the traffic underpass and more than 1,500 new parking spaces.

The Openville Timişoara mixed-use project is developed by IULIUS and Atterbury Europe, adding up to an estimated investment upwards of € 220 million.
