The Minister of Communications, Valerian Vreme, yesterday met representatives of the ZTE company Jane Chen, Senior Vice president of ZTE Corporation , Tim Shi (Liang), Senior Account Manager, ZTE Romania and Lorian Ovidiu Vintilqa, strategy manager of ZTE Romania, according to a pres release of the ministry.

During this meeting, ZTE was invited next week to Jucu to analyze the possibility of an investment in the place that Nokia will clear after closing the Jucu production unit, according to Hotnews.

ZTE previously announced that it intends to open in Romania a line of assembly of TV equipment and smartphones with approximately 100 employees. The net salary in the new ZTE plant in Romania will start from RON 1,700, said Vintila.

“We are not developing a production line with a capacity of millions of terminals like Nokia did. We are more restrained because we are entering the smartphone area, terminals that do not sell like 2G and 3G entry-level phones so that you can target the mass- market. We estimate that in 2012 we will produce in the new plant in Romania somewhere between 350,000- 500,000 terminals for the Romanian market and emerging countries. WE will focus on two models of smartphone Skate 4.3 and Blade 2,” said Vintila, quoted by Hotnews.
