ZebraPay, a company of instant payment terminals, has announced that it will invest this year in excess of USD 3 million into the expansion of its national network. ZebraPay will add another 1,000 terminals this year.
The first stage of the project has been finalized after 200 instant payment terminals were set into place in Cluj Napoca, Timisoara, Craiova, Galati, Braila, Constanta, Iasi, Targu-Jiu and Bucharest.
The devices were installed in hypermarkets, supermarkets, malls, gas stations, train stations, hospitals and universities. Thus, they can be found at Metro Cash&Carry, Billa, Real, Diverta network and Rompetrol gas stations.
“We will continue the expansion also in other cities, as the ZebraPay network will become, after the 1,000 terminals are set into place, the largest of this type in Romania,” said Radu Ciorbea, general manager of ZebraPay. The company works woth local partners who are entrepreneurs who run the ZebraPay terminals in franchise.
At the moment, the terminals offer clients the possibility to recharge their Orange, Vodafone and Cosmote prepay cards. However, by the end of the year, ZebraPay plans to launch new services on these terminals, such as collection of payments for utilities, fixed and mobile telephony services, internet, TV cable, payments to public institutions and sales of software licenses, train tickets, coach tickets or concert tickets.
“With the launch of the new services in various market segments, the ZebraPay terminals will become the first local models of one-stop-shops,” says Ciorbea.
