Microsoft announced a major reorganisation on Thursday, and Windows executive vice president Terry Myerson has confirmed that he will be leaving the company, CNBC reports.

Microsoft aims to establish two main engineering teams, focused on experiences and devices and cloud and AI platforms.

Myerson first joined Microsoft 21 years ago and managed the Exchange and Windows 10 products.

He wrote on Linkedin: “Leaving fills me with amny emotions, but I’m mostly filled with gratitude and optimism – gratitude for the experiences I have had and optimism for the future ahead – both for Microsoft and myself.”

Microsoft shares rose slightly after the announcement.
