What to do in Bucharest this weekend?

The hot month July continues with several festivals and concerts this weekend in Bucharest.

Friday evening begins with the urban theatre festival. The second edition of the festival between July 8 and 31 near Grozavesti metro station. The urban theatre Festival aims to develop the urban art circuit from Bucharest. It focuses on the community revitalization, offering the young people an interaction space, communication and expression through art. The young people can use the art as a way of understanding the artistic act as an accessible one that can help them to know themselves and the others better.

For jazz and musical lovers, on July 8, starting with 19:30 on Romana square, Madalina Mantu will hold a concert. Mantu is a Romanian-German singer, born in Romania and having singer parents. She starting playing the piano when she was 6 and at 21 she started studying classic canto.

Moreover, on Sunday starting with 19:00 will take place the French Swing-Jazz, tango & chansonnettes concert with the singers Diana Tudor (voice) and Alexandru Burca (piano).  The program includes famous songs of Edith Piaf, Yves Montand, Dalida, Juliette Greco, Charles Aznavour, Patrick Bruel, Cristian Vasile, Jean Moscopol.

For those interested interested in socialization, in Herastrau park at Charles de Gaulle entrance, a picnic is prepared on Sunday starting with 16:00. The program is flexible, there’s the possibility o changing and adding other activities, taking into account the suggestions of the group. The main activities proposed are: monopoly, playing cards, rammy, football for amateurs and board games.
