What to do in Bucharest this weekend?

As the summer officially arrived, there are a lot of festivals and events prepared for this weekend in Bucharest to get out of the house and start enjoying the hot weather.

Since Friday early in the morning, at 10:00 am there is the Gourmet Festival, at Baneasa Shopping City, celebrating the gastronomical culture dedicated to gourmet cuisine lovers, the real tastes, the uniqueness and the flavor of every dish. The event has as purpose to offer the public a complete experience for all ages, bringing together fine dishes lovers, as well as diverse drinks tasters who want to attend the first edition of Gourmet Festival.

For rock music lovers, METALHEAD organizes the 5th edition of METALHEAD Meeting, an anniversary edition which will take place at Arenele Romane starting with 17:00 pm, when there will be the most known international metal bands, such as THE EXPLOITED, ELUVEITIE, KREATOR and DRAGONFORCE.

Friday in the evening and continuing until Sunday, the 18th edition of International Festival of Movies “Très Court” 2016 takes place at French Institute from Bucharest starting with 9:30 pm . Having a smaller length than the short movies, the very short movies will be presented on screens with a wide freedom and creativity for 3 minutes. The amateurs or professionals, the directors of these very short movies are from the entire world and reflect the contemporary society and its diversity.

In Coltea Park from the center of Bucharest, a new edition of “Summer Symphonies” started and will continue all the summer until September 25, a period in which Classical music lovers can listen to famous arias and symphonies played by famous artists starting with 18:00.

For funk lovers, there will be FUNKorporation concert on Saturday at 20:00, with funky grooves and catchy guitar riffs, trombone and clarinet.

And because every summer has a story, on this one new courses can be attended, so in between 11:00 and 18:00 Calea Victoriei Foundation has the Open Door Day presenting interesting themes and courses prepared for this summer. There will be free demos with themes such as: psychology and personal development, art history, fashion and beauty, astronomy, Japanese animation, movie, Bucharest history, oriental stories, religion mysticism.
