Voluntary pension funds had assets worth RON 1.87 bn at the end of March

Voluntary pension funds (known as Pillar III pensions) had shares worth approximately RON 1.87 billion, on March 31 of 2018, a 16.3 percent rise from the same period of 2017, according to the Financial Supervision Authority (ASF).

State bonds had the largest share of the assets, of RON 1.08 billion (58.03 percent), followed by shares, with RON 421.4 million (22.5 percent). Corporate bonds were on third place, with RON 116.4 million, or 6.22 percent of the total.

Voluntary pension funds had 452,997 participants at the end of March.

Pillar III includes the following pension funds: Aegon Esential, Azt Moderato, Azt Vivace, BCR Plus, BRD Medio, NN Activ, NN Optim, Pensia Mea, Raiffeisen Acumulare and Stabil.
