Several photos from the protest that rocked Bucharest on Sunday evening became viral on Facebook.
Although some of the people that took the pictures were professional photographers, some of the photographs that became viral over night were taken by regular Facebook users that were supporting the protesters. One of the photos was shared by former PM Dacian Ciolos on his Facebook profile.
Around 30,000 people took to the streets in Bucharest to express their anger at proposed pardon bill and the planned amendments to the Penal Code. Aside from Bucharest, which saw the biggest number of protesters, several thousands people were out on the streets in other Romanian cities, including Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara.
President Klaus Iohannis briefly joined the protesters in the Romanian capital and the head of the PSD, Liviu Dragnea, accused him of initiating a coup.
