VIDEO. Waterlogged football pitch in Romania: Players and referees are struggling to clear the playing surface

This is how two teams have tried to make sure that they will play on Sunday, although a flash thunderstorm had just flooded the football pitch.

UTA Batrana Doamna was scheduled to play against FC Voluntari. So right before the start of the game, all the players alongside the referees got buckets, sponges and wooden boards and started to clear the field.

They were able to make the pitch playable and the game was started although the players were struggling to maintain their stability on the muddy surface.

In the end, UTA beat FC Voluntari 1 to 0. The team were fighting to avoid relegation to the second league.
