Value of shares traded at BVB went up last week by 14.96 pct

The shares transactions value of last week at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) increased by 14.96 percent to RON 102.65 million, taking into account that the total exchanges were worth RON 108.65 million, according to a Puls Capital analysis.

The most traded shares were those of Banca Transilvania, worth of RON 23.4 million, Romgaz of RON 20 million and Electrica of RON 16.67 million.

The stock exchange indexes had positive evolutions, between 0.71 percent on BET-BK index (measuring the investment fund efficiency ) and 1.82 percent on BET-NG index ( that brings together 10 companies from energy and utilities sector).

A total of 34 shares had positive evolutions, 13 stable evolutions and 28 have fallen. The biggest growth were registered on fine mechanics shares (27.27 percent), UAMT (12.31 percent) and Alro (7.83 percent). The most important drops were registered in tourism, hotels and Black Sea restaurants shares (-7.91 percent), Stirom (-7.22 percent) and Oltchim (-3.65 percent).

According to the Puls Capital analysis, based on BVB reports for the first semester, 60 out of the 75 analyzed companies had a positive results at the end of the first six months.

„In the first semester there were very good results in constructions area through the results of Construcții Napoca, Impact, Teraplast și Prebet. Other two sectors that were important during January-June 2016 were the banking and pharmaceutical ones” says Puls Capital.

On the other hand, besides Electrica, that had a net profit bigger compared with the first semester of 2015, the energy and utilities companies didn’t have good results on the first half of the year.

OMV Petrom was affected by small price of crude oil, the reduction of refining margins and the block of Petrobrazi refinery for general revision, while the Romgaz activity was negatively influenced by the drop in natural gas demand, the warmer weather and the high competition based on the smaller import prices. ” said Puls Capital.
