Realitatea Catavencu group, owned by Romanian businessmen Sorin Ovidiu Vant, will stop printing the Business Standard daily, with the last issue of the newspaper set to be on the market on December 23, according to sources within the company. The newspaper’s employees have already been announced that the group will no longer be involved into printing Business Standard from January 1 next year. The company’s management hasn’t ruled out the possibility of selling the title to an investor, should one be interested. Sorin Ovidiu Vantu said earlier today in an interview for hotnews.ro that the publishing group will focus on its TV, radio and online businesses. Realitatea Catavencu is also currently printing the weekly Money Express and the daily newspaper Cotidianul. It also owns newswire NewsIn. The group runs Realitatea TV and the Money Channel TV stations.
UPDATE: The restructuring of Realitatea Catavencu’s portfolio also includes closing down Cotidianul newspaper, while the group is currently negotiating the sale of NewsIn newswire. The website owned by the group, money.ro, has confirmed the information on the market, read the article here.
