UPC Romania sees Q1 revenues gain 6.4 pct to USD 41.4 mln

Telecom operator UPC Romania, owned by Liberty Global, has registered an increase in the number of clients and subscriptions for its services in the first three months of this year.

As a result, the company’s revenues went up by 6.4 percent to USD 41.4 million in Q1 against the same period of last year.

The number of UPC services used by its clients rose by 11 percent to 2.1 million. In the same period, the company added 67,300 new clients in its portfolio.

The firm has sold 13,500 new digital TV subscriptions, reaching 606,700 in total by end-March. This figure grew by 9 percent compared to the same period of last year.

On internet, UPC added 56,600 new subscriptions, which is an increase of 13 percent against Q1 2015. The company has 500,600 clients in this business line.

In the phone services segment, UPC has registered a 32 percent increase year-on-year. It had 415,600 clients at the end of March.
