Unemployment rate down 0.2%

The unemployment dropped 0.2% in December, compared to November, to 7.1%. Still, compared to December 2012, the unemployment rate was bigger by 0.4%, and the number of unemployed workers reached 719,000.

The number of unemployed workers between ages 15 and 74 years was 740,000 in November 2013, and 671,000 in December 2012.

“In terms of gender, the males’ unemployment rate surpasses the females’ by 1.3%”, according to a report from the National Institute of Statistics.

For adults, unemployment is estimated at 5.7% for December 2013 (6,2% for men and 5% for women).
