Transgaz has signed a memorandum of agreement with The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), in Baku.
The agreement, which was signed on Tuesday, “is beneficial in strengthening the collaboration of the relation of collaboration on multiple levels, in fields of strategic importance, common projects and of joint interest, without limiting themselves to infrastructure projects in the energy sector, a statement by Transgaz reads.
The memorandum was signed during a meeting by SNTGN Transgaz SA president Ion Sterian, director of the European Funds Access and International Relations Department Ciprian Alic and SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev. The meeting was also attended by Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Daniel Cristian Ciobanu and MEP Ramona Nicole Manescu.
According to a statement by Transgaz, SOCAR can become a bridge towards Azerbaijan and the Caspian Sea region, while for SOCAR Transgaz can create a link with the relevant European bodies active in the field.
Transgaz is the technical operator of the national transmission system and is responsible for its operation in terms of quality, safety, economic efficiency and environmental protection.
