Trade deficit narrows by 7.5 percent in first five months of 2011

Romania’s trade deficit has reached EUR 3.6 billion in the first five months of 2011, narrowing by 7.5 percent against the same period of last year shows data coming from the National Statistics Institute. In spite the overall decline, the trade gap has gone up this May going over EUR 1 billion.

In the first five months of the year exports have increased by 32 percent reaching EUR 18.3 billion while imports have went up by 23 percent reaching EUR 21.8 billion.
