Tourism minister: Tourism agencies will declare quarterly the advance payments from tourists

Tourism agencies will declare quarterly the advance payments from tourists and will submit an invoice in this respect to have a transparent evidence of the cash in level, says the Tourism minister, Mircea Titus Dobre, mentioning that no agency will close due to the introduction of tourism guarantee fund.

“The law regarding the tourism services packages guarantee represent the main legal grounds,  that will be followed by the applicability norms, under a Government decision form. Only the tourism agencies that obtain for the first time a  license will bear an initial contribution and the level cannot be lower than EUR 2,000. Based on the invoice, will be calculated the quantum of the contribution to the fund. No agency will close due to the introduction of tourism guarantee fund,” says Dobre in a release.

He adds that the number one priority of the Tourism Ministry is the security of the Romanian tourist.

„In this respect, we need a correct, unitary and efficient guarantee system for the touristic services packages, that bears including the repatriation costs, in the case of some unexpected situations. It’s the obligation of the Romanian state to come up with specific measures considering that there were no measure for more than 20 years in this field,” says Dobre.

This Monday took place a public debate, led by the Tourism minister, with the representatives of the Professional Association of Tourism from Romania (APTR), with the topic of guarantee fund of touristic packages, where attended also the general director of the National Guarantee Fund of Loans for SMEs, Alexandru Petrescu.
