thegroup adds field marketing services through acquisition of BrandsOn

Communication group thegroup has bought the majority package in field marketing firm BrandsOn, a company which made a EUR 5.2 million turnover and a EUR 100,000 profit last year. thegroup now owns 51 percent of the company’s shares, the remainder being controlled by founder Marian Dumitrescu. BrandOn joins a group of 14 companies withing thegroup, which is run by Zoltan Szigeti (in picture). Dumitrescu will also join thegroup following the sale. BrandOn will rebrand as Field:star in 2010 and will also launch new products and services.

BrandOn has an estimated market share of 15 percent, according to the company and has worked on over 220 programs this year, among which product launches, street marketing and door to door activities. The firm was set up six years ago.

thegroup includes firms specializing in creation, media, PR, production, marketing and events. The company makes a EUR 109.8 million turnover a year, according to its data. The group of companies include Innovaty Production, Brandstalk, Nicola Porter Novelli, House of Media, Media Investment, Q research and Navidoo firms, among others. thegroup was founded by Zoltan Szigeti and Mihaela Nicola.
