Brio, the first and only ed-tech platform of standardized digital tests addressed to Romanian students, announces the winners of the second edition of the digital mathematics Olympiad, Brio Challenge. Out of over 11,000 students who registered at the start, 120 students qualified for the final stage, and 36 were declared winners.

12 of the finalists obtained the title of Champions, with scores between 82.50 and 100 points, the tie being made depending on the time to solve the test. Another 24 students were declared Vice-Champions. The prizes awarded to all finalists in the competition have a cumulative value of approximately 30,000 euros.

The competition provided an opportunity for all students in grades I-XII to test their math skills and, at the same time, came to support students in the final years who are preparing for the next exams.

“We ended the second edition of the Brio Challenge with the feeling that it exceeded once again our expectations and gave us the chance to meet an absolutely exceptional level of competitiveness and performance of children. We are glad that participating in a digital school competition is starting to become a habit in Romania as well, and the growing interest of students, teachers and parents for this type of competition motivates us to continue our mission and bring new innovations to the Brio® platform,” says Dragoș Iliescu, CEO, Chief Scientist and founder Brio®.

The prizes for the 12 Brio Challenge Champions will consist of a Huawei MateBook laptop, a one-year Brio Unlimited subscription and a shopping ticket worth 900 lei, and the 24 Vice-Champions will enjoy an Xbox console, a subscription for one year Brio Plus and a shopping voucher worth 500 lei each. Other 84 finalists will receive shopping vouchers worth 300 lei / each and a six-month Brio Start subscription.

Brio Challenge is the only online math Olympiad, created on the international testing model Item Response Theory (used for the famous SAT, GMAT, GRE, etc.), which ensures 100% objectivity and equal access to all participants. The testing platform documents and eliminates any deviation from international examination rules, a deviation that could create suspicions about the accuracy of the Brio Score obtained. Instruments such as ObservED, a multimodal proctoring tool developed by Tremend and based on detection assisted by Artificial Intelligence, which monitors the activity of competitors and certifies the validity of the score obtained.

Prizes and free participation of students in the Brio Challenge competition were provided by UniCredit Bank, Dedeman Association and Kaufland Romania.
