The National Customs Authority confiscates 16,900 packs of cigarettes

The customs police from the Oancea Customs Post in Galati county confiscated yesterday 16,900 packs of cigarettes worth approximately RON 70,000, the National Customs Authority (ANV) has announced. The cigarettes were found hidden in a truck which was entering Romanian territory from the Republic of Moldova. The truck’s driver, a Moldavian citizen, was charged with cigarette smuggling and placed under preventive arrest for 29 days.
