The founder of Veka, Heinrich Laumann, deceased at age 89

The PVC profiles producer Veka announces the death of Heinrich Laumann, the founder of the company, who died on Monday, September 3, at the age of 89.

Laumann founded VekaPlast in 1969, at the age of 40, in Sendenhorst, no one could imagine that it would become, in only 50 years, one of the most important suppliers in the market world PVC systems for windows, doors, PVC blinds and tiles.

”With gratitude and sorrow we say goodbye to a wonderful man, a formidable personality with remarkable achievements of life. We will continue our work in the spirit inspired over time, ”said Andreas Hartleif, chairman of the Veka Council and the son-in-law to Heinrich Laumann.

Heinrich Laumann was named Honorary Citizen of Sendenhorst and received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. He has received this honor for his professional achievements – his performance in the construction and expansion of his company in Sendenhorst, as well as his remarkable contribution to society and personal involvement for people and nature.

Founded in 1969, as a result of the takeover of the German manufacturer Vekaplast, which at that time had only 8 employees, Veka became the world leader in the PVC profile systems for doors, windows and shutters in 2011, numbering today over 5,600 employees and sales of around EUR 1 billion worldwide.

Veka Romania, established in 2000, is wholly owned by Veka AG Germany and employs more than 30 people, currently carrying out business with over 180 partners across the country.
