Prime Minister Emil Boc announced today that Teodor Baconschi was dismissed from the position of minister of external affairs after making allegations regarding the protesters on his blog.
At the end of the speech he held in parliament, Boc said the reaction of politicians has not always been the most suitable and that he regrets ‘the faux pas and verbal clumsiness’ of colleagues regarding the protesters.
About one week ago, Baconschi wrote on his website:
“One thing becomes more and more clear for all Romanians who mean well. The life-or-death battle between the forces of the past and the project of a new Romania has started. The opposition has activated at last the entire arsenal inherited from Ana Pauker, Teo, Luca and Dej: armed punks, disinformation, the propaganda of hate. They accuse us that we will steal the elections only because we want Romanians to vote, in the diaspora and at home. What they want, in exchange, is that a population hebetated by TV channels, frightened by apocalyptic scenarios always contradicted by reality, and more recently, the hooligans driven into the street, to choose instead of the state reform the rhetoric of hate and impotence at the level of political agenda,” said Baconschi.
