Tarom’s expenses will be diminished by RON 12.7 million per year, due to the optimization of logistic activity and the efficiency of informatics operations for passengers’ services, said the airline company.
This amount resulted from the internal analysis requested by the CEO of Tarom and was developed during November 29-Decemebr 29, 2017.
„Thus was requested a reevaluation of expenses, which generated the optimization of logistic activities of Tarom in a first stage, as well as the informatics operations efficiency to serve the passengers. In was developed a decrease in the company’s expenses by approximately RON 12.7 million/year,” says the Tarom release.
According to the source, the measures of the CEO of Tarom represent a first step in the redress of Tarom activity and its strategic repositioning in the international aviation industry.
During 2017 were appointed five CEOs of the company. The fifth interim CEO and the current one, Wolff Werner-Wilhelm, replaced Ileana Daniela Dragne. She resigned on November 15 due to personal reasons.
Tarom entered a reevaluation and reorganization process, after several incidents on the company’s aircrafts and after an announcement regarding the losses of this year estimated at RON 207 million, five times higher than the budget published in September in the Official Monitor.
According to the draft on the Ministry’s site, the total revenues of the company are forecasted to RON 1.14 billion. In the approved budget the revenues amounted to RON 1.24 billion. The salary expenses are estimated to RON 142 million (a similar level to the approved budget). The number of employees estimated at the end of the year is 1,903 persons.
